So we’re past the 30 days of linux. So now with the reinstall… Or Install of a new desktop method, I of course had to install some apps and things that were necessary. And a lot of them were basically the same as before some are a little different.

One thing I didn’t mention is that in order to get the updates for the wireless, I actually had to create a network connection in the system settings area to get it going, but it  a real simple thing to get going.

Well here it is, te 30th day and what am I doing? I am running Kubuntu instead of Ubuntu. Yet another new experimentation it seems, yet I am STILL not back under Windows!

I found that Kubuntu uses a lot of the same apps I was using before, Open Office is still there.. Oh wait, no it doesn’t no FireFox. It uses Konqueror as it’s web browser by default. But check this out, all those nifty things I was doing under Gnome that required extras, it’s all native here under KDE 4. Here’s some of the screen shots. One thing I learned today is that there is just some formats that the ipod cannot read. I synced up all the podcasts and the Ubuntu Podcast shows on my iPod however the video does not play what so ever! How is that possible that it transfers it over, but won’t play the friggen thing. I will have to look into the file format to figure this out. But there are other things afoot right now.

I am now trying to think of what I should remove or tweak next. I find it funny that with all the programs and files I have on the system now it’s only 20GB used and a large portion of that is the documents and files I have in my home folder Can we say Bloatware?

So basically today was spent with tweaking Conky a little here and there. But mostly it was another day of sorting. And the final day might I add. Yes I got to the end of my collection!!!

Again I am happy that I am able to organize a lot better than under Windows. I feel like it’s Laundry day!

Yes that is Linux Detergent you are seeing in the picture to the right. Micro&Soft is the maker? I have seen this picture floating around the interwebs for quite some time now. I still think it’s funny.
